The Nike Kobe 11 FTB will be the final release from the Nike Kobe FTB “Black Mamba” collection and will be Nike’s way of officially saying goodbye to Kobe Bryant. Mamba Day reaches its peak later this evening when Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers face-off against the Utah Jazz at Staples Center. In accordance with the game, Nike will release the entire “Black Mamba” pack for those looking to pick up a couple of key releases they may have missed. But it’s the final installment to the collection, the Nike Kobe 11 FTB, that reigns highest today.
As the capstone to Nike’s “Fade to Black” sneaker collection in honor of Kobe Bryant’s storied 20-year basketball career, the Nike Kobe 11 FTB “Black Mamba” is the last in the series to release, fittingly on the night of Kobe’s last match between the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz. Featuring a simple black Flyknit upper, tonal leather is applied to the tongue, heel counter and pull tab, while a solemn golden Swoosh commands the design. Kobe’s logo is embroidered on the left heel, whilst today’s date, “4.13.16,” receives a similar treatment on the right heel.
